Spersallerg belongs to the group of drugs used to treat eyes, and ears-nose-throat conditions. The drug is prepared in the form of eye drops - 0.4mg/ml and packaged in a box of 1 bottle of 10ml. Spersallerg contains the main ingredients Antazoline hydrochloride 0.5mg, Tetryzoline hydrochloride 0.4mg along with other excipients.
Antazoline is a synthetic antihistamine, that antagonizes the histamine H1 receptor, reducing the release of mediators that cause hypersensitivity or allergic reactions, thereby creating an anti-allergic effect.
Tetryzoline acts on the sympathetic system, selectively stimulating alpha-adrenergic receptors to cause constriction of conjunctival arterioles, thereby reducing eye irritation that causes inflammation or eye pain, itchy eyes and has a mild effect of lowering intraocular pressure.
Spersallerg eye drops are used in the following cases:
- Treatment of eye irritation causing conjunctivitis, except for infectious conjunctivitis.
- Allergic conjunctivitis or fever and vernal conjunctivitis.
